In our recent Bible study session, we explored the significance of Jesus Christ as the Son of Man and the Lamb of God. This session delved into various scriptures, including the Book of Revelation, Isaiah, and the New Testament, to understand why Jesus had to come to Earth in human form and the importance of His sacrificial blood. Exploring Revelation 13 and 5

Our study focused on Revelation 13 and 5, which contrast the authority of the beast and the redemptive power of the Lamb. Revelation 13 describes the beast's dominion over every tribe, tongue, and nation. At the same time, Revelation 5 celebrates the Lamb who was slain and redeemed people from every tribe, tongue, and nation by His blood. This juxtaposition underscores the ultimate victory of Jesus over evil.

The Lamb of God in Exodus

We revisited the story of the Passover in Exodus, where the blood of a lamb protected the Israelites from the plague of the firstborn. This event foreshadowed the sacrificial death of Jesus, the Lamb of God, whose blood redeems us from sin and death. The blood on the doorposts symbolized the protection and deliverance that Jesus' blood provides for believers.

The Prophecy of Isaiah 53

Isaiah 53 prophesies the suffering Messiah, describing Jesus as a man of sorrows, acquainted with grief, who bore our sins and iniquities. This chapter highlights the necessity of Jesus' suffering and death to bring us healing and peace. By His stripes, we are healed, and His sacrificial blood cleanses us from all unrighteousness.

The Necessity of Jesus' Humanity

We discussed why Jesus had to come in human form. According to the order of creation, everything begins with a seed, and Jesus, the seed of God, had to be born as a human to redeem humanity. His life, death, and resurrection fulfilled the divine order and provided a perfect sacrifice for our sins. Jesus' humanity allowed Him to experience our pain and suffering, making His sacrifice all the more powerful and relatable.

The Fulfillment of God's Promises

We explored how Jesus' life and sacrifice fulfilled the promises made in the Old Testament. From Abraham's near-sacrifice of Isaac to the establishment of Israel, God's plan for redemption was woven throughout history. Jesus, the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world, completed this plan, offering eternal redemption through His blood.
